Biotechnology recruitment is currently booming in the IP world
Carys Bello, Head of Social Media elaborates…
2023 is just getting going and it’s turning out to be the year for opportunities in biotechnology.
Firms are recruiting for qualified attorneys at Associate and Senior Associate level in particular. The resilience the biotechnology sector had during the Covid-19 pandemic has meant that interest from investors in the biotech sector is growing worldwide, hence the increase in opportunities. As a result of the pandemic work seemed to rapidly increase due to the impact on training arrangements which left firms needing to immediately recruit productive resource.
Geographically, biotech opportunities seem to mostly in the South East of the UK. London is predominantly the most common location and a few positions from Cambridge also. Despite the current influx of biotech positions, we have noticed a trend that there are less candidates available. This could potentially be because of the rising interest in flexible working which therefore is reducing the desire to move. However, we think moving now could just be what you need to elevate you and your career. At Fellows and Associates we believe that we have positions available to you that are unique and favourable. Maybe you are struggling to negotiate a good set of circumstances at your current firm. Moving could present a better chance at negotiating a far better set of circumstances than previous. It’s also evident that Associate level recruitment continues to have a strong hold in the IP world therefore it is always a good time to move no matter when in the year. It seems to also be picking up for nearly/newly qualified Patent Attorneys which we have a few opportunities for.
Here are some positions we currently have available:
