Announcement from Fellows and Associates – Trade Mark Fest 2010
Dear All, Before I get on to the meat of my memo – welcome to new members that have joined as a consequence of meeting me or Michele at the INTA Annual Meeting. I am not sure if INTA has kick-started recruitment for Trade Mark Attorneys and Solicitors but we all of a sudden, have a huge amount of vacancies. We hoped we might enlist some group members to help us source these roles with suggestions of suitable candidates… (and yes we do reward handsomely for good information that generates a placement).
Qualified TM Attorney, London Law Firm
This firm is setting up a prosecution department and need someone to help them launch it. Ideally someone around 2-4 years post qualified would suit who would be able to grow into the role over time. It would be a terrific opportunity for an attorney feeling stifled and desiring the chance to develop something of their own.
Qualified TM Attorney/Solicitor, Wellington NZ
In all likelihood this will be an individual working in a commonwealth country so the firm can take advantage of experience of a similar legal system. This is initially a 9-12 month contract and is a mixed prosecution and litigation practice. Would perhaps suit an attorney with prosecution experience hoping to get some litigation on their CV or frankly someone pining to do something different for a year, perhaps having just qualified.
2x Trademark Litigators, London
Solicitors or dual qualified solicitors/trademark attorneys with trademark litigation experience to help this patent and trademark prosecution firm launch a litigation business. This is a fantastically exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of a new strategy for the firm which has arguably one of the best trademark practices in the UK.
Trademark Partner, ideally with a Following
Trademark Attorney, perhaps at Associate or Salaried Partner level looking to move their work to a new home. The firm has a space for a future Equity Partner so this is a real chance to secure ones future. Following in excess of £100,000 will be considered – it doesn’t need to be a complete portfolio.
Finalist/Qualified Trademark Attorney, London
Very entrepreneurial department – would suit a commercially astute attorney who appreciates a great deal of autonomy.
Qualified Trademark Attorney, London
Well run firm with an extremely competitive salary structure -seriously, we were blown away by what they are prepared to offer for an excellent candidate with a good track record.
Qualified Trademark Attorney, Kent
Ideally circa 2 years post qualified. Good chance of progressing towards partnership, expanding department with a superb client base led by a down to earth yet commercially astute Partner.
Trainee Trademark Attorney, London
Would suit someone with 1-2 years experience, currently training (or perhaps made redundant in the recent downturn). For this role I would be seeking someone keen to qualify with bags of potential but with scope to develop at a similar pace to the department. It’s working for a fabulous Trademark Partner who is very influential as a key decision maker within his firm.
Department/Small Firm Acquisition
And finally… this client wants to buy an existing practice or integrate a department from a competing firm. Ideally I think we would be looking for a turnover in the region of £1.5-£2 million (but if it’s more, I’m sure they would entertain it) with a base of existing attorneys that could integrated into the acquiring firm to form a new department. Perhaps a circumstance where a practice owner is planning to retire over the next few years and is seeking a succession plan that considers the employees.
Thanks for reading, any help very much appreciated. It’s great that the market appears to be picking up. This many positions, most of which are newly created (and not replacing someone leaving) has got to be a strong indication of an improved IP sector. Pete Fellows.
