Relocate to Scotland
It is a baseless assumption that roles with real opportunity are limited to London.
It is quite the opposite with candidates being offered the chance to make a significant impression on their career when considering locations that, for some, may be a little left field.
In particular there is an express need for mechanical engineers in Scotland, which seems to have been overlooked when noting prospective hubs of IP activity. However with the opportunity to launch a new office for an already leading Patent Attorney firm and become an integral part of their major investment plan for the future, it seems foolish for it to not stand up and be counted.
At present there is a want for finalist level/qualified patent attorneys as well as more senior candidates with at least 3 years’ PQE. There is the chance for those to tailor and grow a strong portfolio of clients and contacts and develop intellectual property strategies in cahoots with board level decision makers. Responsibilities will include invention mining, drafting and patent prosecution in the UK and Europe as well as instructing foreign associates on behalf of clients.
The firm employ an open culture and meritocracy with a manageable work/life balance that is easily achieved. This, along with a generous salary package commensurate to that offered in London, ensures that Scotland stands proud as a desirable and lucrative location for IP professionals.
