At Fellows and Associates we only work within the intellectual property sector. We spend a great deal of energy every year increasing our network of contacts, particularly through attendance at events such as the INTA Annual Meeting and AIPPI Congress. We are avid social networkers and use a variety of resources such as Linkedin, Twitter and YouTube to publicise and resource roles. We work both on a contingent ‘no win, no fee’ basis and on retained search projects which may include an advertising campaign, a targeted headhunt or a combination of the two.

We are a UK based company and recruit patent attorneys, trade mark attorneys, IP lawyers and other IP professionals both in the UK and internationally. In particular, outside of the UK, we have experience of moving candidates from one jurisdiction to another. We work across a wide variety of positions within the IP sector from part qualified patent and trade mark attorneys to equity Partners and IP Counsel positions.


  • Conventional/Contingent Recruitment. If you wish to only pay for candidates that you ultimately employ, as a result of our introduction, this can be the best solution. We drive candidates to our website via social media and networking as well as regularly advertising in the CIPA Journal and other intellectual property publications. We have an extensive contact base that is growing every year, so can find potential applicants that our competitors are not aware of.
  • Social Media for Retained Search: Utilising social media is a strategic approach to filling your job opening efficiently. It allows us to tap into vast networks of potential candidates, reaching both active job seekers and passive talent. By leveraging social media platforms, we can target specific demographics, industries, and skill sets, ensuring that we connect with the most qualified individuals for your job opening. It’s a dynamic tool that enables us to cast a wide net and identify the perfect fit for your team quickly and effectively.
  • Search. We have extensive experience of running targeted headhunt campaigns, researching a short list of prospective candidates, contacting them, persuading them of the merits of the firm we are representing and then facilitating an introduction. Our fees for search are highly competitive and we always ensure that our clients understand the scope of the project before commencement such that expectations are met.
  • Consultancy. Beyond recruitment we have also advised firms on a variety of concerns such as: potential merger targets, and facilitating discussions between firms; where to locate new offices (an assessment of local available talent and/or competition in a particular region); practical concerns in relation to relocating attorneys from other jurisdictions and financial and business consultancy led by a CIMA qualified Accountant.
