Senior Associate, Patent Attorney (Electronics, IT & Physics), New Zealand

A leading New Zealand IP practice is seeking an experienced Patent Attorney to join its Electronics, IT & Physics group at Senior Associate level. This is a chance to step into an important role with real influence, whilst relocating to a country known for its quality of life, natural beauty, and thriving tech sector. 

You’ll take ownership of complex drafting and prosecution matters, advise high growth technology clients, and help shape sophisticated patent strategies across software, AI, data systems, telecommunications, electronics hardware, and physics based innovation. You’ll also become a valued mentor and contribute to the team’s leadership and development. 

Who You Are 

  • Qualified Patent Attorney (UK, EPA, or USPTO). 
  • Strong academic foundation in electronics, computer science, physics, or related fields. 
  • Typically, 5–10+ years’ experience in drafting, prosecution, and strategic IP advisory work. 
  • Confident managing client relationships and contributing to business development.
