• You have technical expertise in biotechnology and are a UK and EP qualified Patent Attorney.

If all of this resonates with you then you should apply to this Partner Designate position.  It’s with a top-tier firm with a growing biotechnology team.  They work across an extensive array of technologies with a high volume of direct clients.  The technology mix includes: oligonucleotide based therapeutics (ASO, mRNA vaccines/immunotherapies, RNA editing); antibodies and antibody conjugates; CAR-T; stem cells and other cell therapies; GPCR technologies; live immunotherapies; synthetic biology and diagnostics.  A majority of the work (c. 60%) comes from direct clients and is primarily non-contentious.

A key rationale for applying could well be the medium-term possibilities.  They have an open Salaried Partner position and are looking for someone who is ready to make a step up.  There may be a short-term transition but there will be an expectation that the role will move to a Partner position within 6 – 12 months.  These kinds of opportunities are scarce in the IP profession with guarantees of client following often being required to enable a step up rather than a step across.  Don’t let it slip by.
