Part-Qualified Chemical Patent Attorney, London, South West, Midlands, Yorkshire

We’re working with a highly respected intellectual property firm looking for a part-qualified Chemical Patent Attorney to join their Life Sciences and Chemistry team. The role can be based in London or one of their other offices in the South West, the Midlands or Yorkshire.

This new position was created due to a growing workload and an expanding client list. You’ll be working with a mix of clients, from ambitious start-ups to global heavyweights, on inventions that are anything but ordinary — particularly in organic, pharmaceutical, process, and green chemistry.

Expect your days to involve drafting and prosecuting patent applications, delving into prior art, crafting arguments sharp enough to convince patent offices, and occasionally packing a bag for EPO hearings. You’ll also have the chance to provide strategic advice on third-party rights and get to know clients well enough that they stop thinking of you as “the patent person” and start calling you first when they’ve had their next big idea.
