Reuters reports that Japan may get distracted with protecting its existing patents rather than looking to M&A opportunities in 2010 as Korean electronic firms usurp the likes of Sony and Panasonic’s usually dominant position at the Consumer Electronics show in Las Vegas this week.


 


Nokia is not sitting idly by as it ups the ante against Apple, The London Daily News reports, with further applications against Apple claiming it is more than the iPhone that infringes its patents.  Might this blow, counter blow, tie the two giants up to the extent that smaller players may get a look in on the market in years to come?  


 


Who would have thought it, but it appears that becoming a Patent Agent is the new “dot.com” boom on the Indian career ladder as the rush to qualify as one in India begins, so Rediff Business reports.  Let’s hope the boom doesn’t go bust before they qualify.
