Australians, New Zealanders, South Africans, Canadians and Americans – Move to the UK!!

Australians, New Zealanders, South Africans, Canadians and Americans – Move to the UK!!

It has been accepted for some time that there has been a real shortage of electronics candidates on hand to accommodate the plethora of jobs available. A situation that has imposed frustration both on the firms in desperate need and us, Fellows and Associates (it’s pretty hard to make placement fees when you can’t find anyone to place).

However, following recent successes, we realised that we may have found a solution to the ‘epidemic’ – increasing the pool of candidates to include those overseas interested in relocating to the UK. Noted that this can warrant additional ‘T’s to cross and ‘I’s to dot but it seems that the outcome can most definitely outweigh the cost, so to speak.

Canadian, South African, Australian and New Zealand based candidates can apply for a two year working holiday visa, for which they can work for the entire term, with the possibility to stay permanently with sponsorship once the visa is due to expire. So, firms are safe in the knowledge that their ever increasing workload has been temporarily appeased; with the option to extend a permanent contract of employment should their newest member of staff earn their place. Happy days!

The need has become so great for some firms that they are extending their appeal across to the US. It is safe to say the process is intrinsically more complicated than that of Commonwealth states but nevertheless not impossible.

The current drought of candidates can no longer be weathered and proactive action must be (and is) being taken by firms. In light of this, we’re looking to speak with electronics Patent Attorneys who are fully qualified in their own jurisdiction, whether it be any of the countries mentioned above, who would be interested in moving to the UK on a temporary or potentially permanent basis.

We’re also working on various opportunities based in Australia for UK and European qualified attorneys. For more information please get in touch with either Pete Fellows or Phillipa Field on +44 207 903 5019 or email [email protected]
