Bringing You The Best From The Web…

Natural News reports that Ecuador plans to fight for its “human right” to affordable medicine by overriding drugs patents.  Coming on the back of president Correa’s declaration that Ecuador will not honour what it feels is illegitimate debt created by previous administrations is this truly an altruistic move or is “profit” also a motivator?

Although US Patents are up, actual product introductions are down according to the recent report in Business Week.  Is this merely a response to current economic conditions whereby creativity and ingenuity continue but releasing the products to the market will be delayed until the chance of succeeding is more certain?

And finally a new South African patent has been granted to Stirling Products for ProVale Glucan a yeast cell wall extract as reported in Proactive Investorsv recently.  ProVale has been shown to increase the weight and survival of livestock as well as enhancing vaccine performance, so how long do we think it will take for these benefits to flow through to the consumer’s pockets?
