The Engineering team work with clients ranging from private individuals all the way up to recognised industry names. You will be with them every step of the way, advising during the initial IP capture, ensuring all necessary protection is in place, and dealing with any litigious issues that may arise. The role is so much than just drafting and prosecution. You will be looked to as a trusted commercial and strategic specialist, working directly with innovators from their conception to when they establish themselves as leaders in their respective fields.
Ideal candidates will have around two years’ experience, although those who have recently passed the Certificate in IP (or equivalent) will also be considered. The firm has a dedicated inhouse Professional Support team on hand to guide their trainees throughout their qualifications, ensuring the process is as smooth and stress free as possible. All exam fees will be covered, including those that have already been incurred, and there’s the opportunity to visit the firm’s other locations during your onboarding and later career to work in cross office teams.
A strong academic background in general or mechanical engineering is required, as is the confidence and capability to work independently. You will be required to be in the office four days a week during your training, however once you qualify more flexibility on this will be available.
