In-house Associate, Biotechnology – RNAi Specialist, London

Job Region: South East

In-house opportunities normally mean being a part of an already established team with set responsibilities and no room for movement on where your career is heading. This role is different. We understand the word ‘different’ gets thrown around a lot when it comes to job adverts, but this one can really back up its claims.

It is an exciting time for this fast-developing biotechnology company with their innovations across RNAi requiring them to expand their small but highly functional IP team. They focus on offering strategic advice and managing effective communication between departments such as R&D and the management board. Responsibilities will include:

  • Developing IP strategies, both reactive and proactive
  • Managing corporate IP policies
  • Protection of freedom to operate clearance as well as search management
  • Invention harvesting and managing the invention disclosure process
  • Drafting technical descriptions and liaising with external counsel to prepare and file new patent applications
  • Drafting, negotiating, finalising and advising on agreements (such as license agreements)
  • Reporting to the corporate leadership team

You will be a qualified European patent attorney with up to a couple of years’ experience. The company specialises in RNAi so confidence and a real interest working in this area is required. The role is based in London with flexible working available – three days in the office and two at home, although there is the option to come in the office more frequently.
