In-house Patent Attorney, Biotechnology, Organic Chemistry or Bioinformatics

Job Description

Work for a small in-house department of a fast-developing company with a role that has a focus in providing IP advice.  As the portfolio grows the dynamic of the position may change to incorporate more drafting.  This position would be a great fit for a candidate who is comfortable providing an active dialogue with primarily non-IP people.  You will be commercially aware and able to see the financial benefits of particular IP decisions.

This is a small department so career progression at the moment is unknowable. Therefore, we think the ideal candidate might be someone who wants to gain some in house experience or someone who is interested in the work of a corporate attorney but who is less concerned by the job after this one. The environment is busy but not full of pressure and the role involves some close interaction with other areas of the business. The company operates a hybrid working policy where you would be in the office 4 days per week.

Candidates should be European qualified patent attorneys but beyond that there is flexibility, newly qualified and up.  A technical background in biotechnology, organic chemistry or bioinformatics with some technical dexterity would be ideal.
