Senior In-House Patent Attorney
Salary: £100-£120,000 with hybrid working
Job Description
Join a business working at the cutting edge of synthetic and stem cell biology for a company making what was science fiction into reality. Be part of a culture that is highly collaborative, open, supportive and creative.
You will be a qualified patent attorney either looking to move into a corporate environment for the first time or with previous experience in industry. You will of course have a strong biotechnology background with experience in recombinant DNA technology and cell therapies being useful.
As a key hire to the team you will be instrumental in growing an IP department with the support of the General Counsel and a close working relationship with R&D.
The role is highly strategic and charged with looking for, managing and/or eliminating IP risks; determining the potential of new IP and commercialising IP wherever possible. You will be able to maintain your drafting and prosecution skills as the company does keep this in house where possible but then much of the work is regarding advice and analysis, building on your skill base. There is likely to be some exposure to IP litigation as well as licensing.
In-house positions are rare. And this particular role is a rarity amongst rarities in that you will have a significant impact on what the business is and how it develops.
