Part Qualified Patent Attorney, Engineering, London
Salary: Competitive
Job Description
It can be a difficult time to move pre qualification. You may feel the focus needs to be on your training and that jumping ship before you have your exams under your belt can be seen as a red flag for firms. This is absolutely not the case.
Part qualified patent attorneys are in high demand at the moment and this firm in particular is extremely keen to find those with a little experience (a couple of years’ give or take) looking for a home where they can be fully supported through the next stage of their career. They appreciate that a learning environment isn’t ‘one size fits all’ and individual strengths and behaviours need to be taken into account throughout the training process. Independence is encouraged from early on with support available when it is needed.
The firm promotes cross disciplinary teams, giving you the opportunity to gain experience in technical areas you wouldn’t necessarily have access to and allowing you to work closely with IP experts with a variety of backgrounds and skillsets. Their attorneys are also extremely visible in the industry – speaking at events, writing and commenting on relevant subjects, and being involved in initiatives such as IP Inclusive.
Ideal candidates will have a couple of years’ experience training to become a patent attorney and have a background in an engineering discipline.
