Biotechnology Patent Attorney, Australia
Job Description
Biotechnology Patent Attorney, Australia
You might wish to relocate because you want to have a great deal more sun; perhaps you just love kangaroos, or erm, spiders; maybe you just want to see if the water really does flow the other way round in the loo or you just need better access to Tim Tams. Whatever your reason for hoping to move to Australia, January 2023 is your moment. Well, if you’re a patent attorney anyway.
We’re recruiting for one of the most successful practices in Australia with offices in most major cities and they’re pretty flexible as to where they can locate you if you have a preference. They’re looking for an attorney with a technical background in biotechnology with likely a few years’ post qualified experience. They’re flexible on your experience level however, as long as you’re qualified and can work reasonably independently.
If you join you will be supported to cross-qualify as a Patent Attorney in Australia and there will be plenty of aid to help you acclimatise to a new environment and jurisdiction. The firm work across a broad range of technologies and with some of Australia’s leading biotechnology companies. In the longer term there are no obstacles for career development towards the upper echelons of the firm.
In respect to remuneration, by and large salaries in Australia for Patent Attorneys are commensurate with the UK so you should be able to achieve a move at a similar level of earning but with more opportunities for BBQ’s throughout the year.
At Fellows and Associates we have a lot of experience helping attorneys navigate an international move and can help you through the process with honest assessment of what’s possible and what are the right questions to ask a potential employer (and what aren’t).
