You really don’t need to go back to the office.  You can work from home all of the time (apart from the occasional meeting).  And this is not a second-class option - your career will progress at the same pace irrespective of where you’re based.  The firm just doesn’t see geography as a priority.

Of course, you will be drafting and prosecuting patents but you will benefit from an extensive contentious practice handling opposition and appeal proceedings at the EPO.  You will develop your portfolio management skills and commercial acumen over time.

From a technical point of view the work includes antibody therapeutics, gene therapy, agriscience RNAi, microbiome inventions, and molecular diagnostics.
