Qualified Patent Attorney, Chemistry/Pharmaceuticals

Location: London

Salary: Excellent

Job Description

Constantly being overlooked for promotion? Frustrated that your ideas aren’t being heard? Maybe you’re stuck in a firm with a ‘one size fits all’ ethos? Then this one could be for you. The firm understands that everyone has different aspirations for how their career will progress and eventually end up. Not everyone wants to work for one large client, or get involved in training and business development, or maybe you do. And all of this is absolutely fine.

The Chemistry and Life Sciences team will help you play to your strengths and give you access to work that both excites and challenges you. The practice works with local and international clients from industries such as household consumer goods, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices. You will be involved in the usual duties, including drafting and prosecution in the UK and Europe, as well as offering ongoing strategic advice, EPO oppositions and dealing with contentious matters.

The firm has an excellent reputation for client service and employee retention. They are big enough to offer fantastic career opportunities and support, but small enough to be able to encourage a collaborative environment where no one is a stranger. They get involved in industry initiatives, invest heavily in employee wellbeing, and have some rather lovely offices to boot.

Ideally you will be a qualified patent attorney with a background in chemistry, pharmaceuticals or similar. Experience in and being comfortable with the more commercial elements of being a patent attorney is also a bonus but by no means required.
